ConcertDo you have a thing for concerts?  You’re not alone.  There are over 4,000,000 searches for concert related information on Google each month.  That’s staggering.  Of course that number trends much higher every summer due to it being the peak season for concerts.

How can you get in on the concert game?  Very simple answer.  Buy City + concert.com domain combinations and build yourself a website and a business.  There are several major metropolitan areas still available.  They are listed below.

  • CLEVELANDCONCERT.COM
  • INDIANAPOLISCONCERT.COM
  • JACKSONVILLECONCERT.COM
  • NEWORLEANSCONCERT.COM
  • NORFOLKCONCERT.COM
  • PITTSBURGHCONCERT.COM
  • SANJOSECONCERT.COM

Can you sell tickets?  Can you sell leads?  Can you set yourself up as a concert promoter in the area?  Can you follow the local concert scene and blog all about it?  Can you build a site that is a natural for advertising?

If these domains don’t suit you, then go looking for your own.  Utilize city acronyms and city nicknames.  Try the names of suburbs.  Try the names of city areas or concert venues.  You get the idea.  Get creative!

City + Animal Domain Names

Pet BusinessesThere are a lot of pet lovers out there.  Just do a quick check on the traffic for terms like: dog, cat, pets, etc.  People are searching for this type of information in droves.  They are also looking to connect with other pet owners and pet service providers locally.  What I have here is a list of domain names that are available that are focused around specific city + pet combinations.  Note, these are all .com domains.  If you are serious about domaining, you stick with the .coms.

What can you do with domains like these?

  1. Sell them to a local pet store
  2. Build a directory and sell advertising and listings to pet-related businesses in the city.  Remember to target both product and service related businesses.  For example, pet stores are on the product side while dog walkers are on the service side.
  3. Build a pet-related blog
  4. Start a photography business in this city focused on this particular pet.
  5. Start a local pet club
  6. Start a pet adoption organization

This type of thing is not hard.  You just need to be a bit creative and have some foresight into what is possible.  You will notice that this list of domains is focused on major metro areas in the US.  The same version of a smaller city will likely be available as well.

Without further ado, here are the domains.  Read to the end because there are more notes at the bottom of the list.

  • TAMPACAT.COM

Final notes:

  1. These domains may not last long, so you had better grab one (or several) if you see one you like.
  2. Keep in mind that cat is short for Caterpillar.  That is a large company in the US and one that sells and rents a lot of products in each of these local markets.  You have to be very careful with trademark infringement, but some of you may be able to get creative.
  3. I basically just checked for city combinations with dog, cat, and bird.  I also used the plural variant of each.  As you know, there are several other combinations that can be created.  Think of other animals (fish, snakes, lizards, specific dogs, specific cats) and think of suburbs and local city acronyms (ex. KC for Kansas City) and local city nicknames (ex. Philly for Philadelphia).

Dog Poop Cleanup

Dog PoopCaught you off guard with that one didn’t I? I saw a sign in my neighborhood offering the service. It’s not the most glamorous, but its definitely something people would pay to have done.

Let’s take a quick look at the numbers to see if this puppy (sorry I had to) works.

Pet Poop Cleanup Service (From the client’s perspective):

  • $20/week
  • Annual service
  • $20/week * 52/months/year = $1,080/year/yard

Pet Poop Cleanup Service (From the provider’s perspective):

  • Billings = $20/week/yard
  • Time per yard = 30 minutes
  • Employee cost/hour = $10
  • Cost/yard = $5
  • Revenue = $15/yard/week = $780/yard/year

So….hypothetically if you sign up 20 yards you have an income of $15,000/year.  100 yards, which isn’t out of the question in a major metropolitan area, would bring in approximately $78,000/year.

People like convenience.  Case in point: lawn service, maid service, dry cleaning service, landscaping service, etc.  It’s not out of the question that they will like this too.  Happy scooping!

Money Making Ideas Galore

I literally have four pages of money making ideas.  There is one idea per line and about twenty lines per page.  For the mathematically challenged, this gives us about 80 ideas to share from these four pages alone.  I should also point out that many of these ideas can be expanded and blown out.  So the original 80 grow to a much larger number in a hurry.

Again, I realize I can’t keep all these to myself, so I am sharing them with you.  Take a look, follow along, and let’s get some discussion going.  I’m looking forward to it.

Bring on the Cupcakes

CupcakesHas anyone else noticed how popular cupcakes are right now?  I’m not sure if you can make cupcakes or not, but there is certainly money to be made there.  If you like to bake and you enjoy making cupcakes, then what are you waiting for?  Now is the time to strike.

Cupcakes are poised to be the next ice cream shop.  There is going to be a cupcake store in every major city.  We already have several here in Kansas City.  In fact, Small Cakes has been shown on the Food Network and seems to be going to town in our local community.  Too bad they don’t own smallcakes.com.  That would make the most sense, but they were probably too late to the game.  I digress, but they should definitely work to buy the name.

Quick Stats:

Cupcakes are going anywhere from $2.00 on up.  Even little tiny cupcakes sell for $1.50.

Daily global searches for cupcakes on Google are estimated at 3,350,000

Daily US search for cupcakes on Google are estimated at 1,830,000

“Cupcake Recipe” is the second most popular search phrase in the cupcake world

The most searched for cupcake flavor is….Chocolate!

I decided to leave this post in place. This blog will literally change your life if you will let it. My plan is to post money making ideas on here for free. The key for you will be getting here first in order to get the first mover advantage. Those of you who don’t get here first can take solace knowing that most of these ideas can be shared and leveraged by everyone. Success will go to the people who take these thoughts and run with them better than everyone else.

Remember, opportunity is missed by most people because it requires work!
